Marine vessels require reliable power transmission in confined and complex engine room environments. A marine operator faced challenges with rigid shafts used in steering auxiliary and bilge pump systems, as limited space and vessel movement caused misalignment, vibration damage, and frequent maintenance.
To solve this, the operator replaced rigid shafts with high-torque rotating flexible shafts. These shafts allowed efficient power transmission through tight, curved paths while accommodating vibration and dynamic movement. Their flexible design simplified installation and reduced layout constraints.
Even under harsh conditions such as vibration, saltwater exposure, and temperature changes, the flexible shafts delivered stable performance and durability. As a result, the steering system operated more precisely, and the bilge pumps maintained reliable function.
This upgrade improved system reliability, reduced maintenance, and enhanced overall vessel safety and efficiency.
